L'UNAM was created by the main members of research and higher education in the Pays de la Loire Region in order to pursue a concerted policy.
Established as a public institution for scientific cooperation, L’Université Nantes Angers Le Mans is a network comprising 11 founding members and 19 associate members. The regional universities, engineering and business schools, as well as the university hospitals are brought together as establishments of higher learning of widely different natures in education and research.
L’UNAM aims to unify the regional research community, to form a joint research strategy, to provide a common label for scientific work, to promote quality doctoral education, to increase the employability of graduates and to undertake international joint projects.
